Terms of Service — Social Connect (Meta App)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of the Social Connect app ("the App", "we", "us") as registered on the Meta App Dashboard and its use of the Meta Graph API and Marketing API, covering Facebook Pages, Instagram professional accounts, and Meta ad accounts ("Meta Platform"). By connecting a Facebook Page, Instagram account, or ad account to the App, the merchant ("you") agrees to these Terms.

These Terms are specific to our use of Meta APIs. For details on what data we access and how it is handled, see our Meta App Privacy Policy.

1. Description of the Service

Social Connect is a Shopify application that lets an e-commerce merchant connect their own Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, X account, and Meta ad account to their Shopify store, so they can compose a single post or ad campaign and publish it across every connected platform at once. You authorize the App via Facebook Login for Business (for Facebook/Instagram) or the relevant platform's own OAuth flow. The App then calls the platform's API on your behalf to deliver this functionality.

2. Eligibility and Your Responsibilities

  • You must hold, or be authorized to manage, the Facebook Page, Instagram account, X account, and/or ad account you connect, and must comply with Meta's Platform Terms, Meta's Advertising Standards, and X's Developer Agreement and Policy at all times.
  • You are responsible for the content of posts and ads you compose and submit for publishing through the App, and for complying with each platform's content and advertising policies.
  • You must not use the App to publish spam, unsolicited content, or material that violates any connected platform's policies.
  • You are responsible for keeping your Shopify store credentials confidential, and for reviewing any ad campaign before activating spend on it in the platform's own Ads Manager.

3. Our Role

We provide the software that connects your Shopify store to the Meta Platform and X using the authorization you grant. We do not own or control your Facebook Page, Instagram account, X account, ad account, or your relationship with your customers or followers. Post publishing, ad review, and account status are ultimately governed and enforced by Meta and X, not by us, and we are not responsible for their decisions to suspend, restrict, or reject your account, posts, or ad campaigns.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App, or the Meta Platform/X through the App, to:

  • Publish unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or infringing content
  • Attempt to circumvent Meta's or X's content, advertising, or platform policies
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or sublicense the App's access to the Meta Platform or X outside your own store's use
  • Activate paid ad spend on a campaign you have not reviewed — the App always creates campaigns paused; activating spend is your explicit action, taken directly in the platform's own Ads Manager

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, a connected platform's policies, or applicable law.

5. Fees

Use of the App may be subject to subscription fees charged through the Shopify App Store. Any ad spend you activate is billed directly by Meta or X through your connected ad account, not by us. We are not responsible for fees charged by Meta or X.

6. Disconnection and Termination

You may disconnect any connected account from the App at any time from within the App's Connections page. We may suspend or discontinue the App's integration with the Meta Platform or X if required by either platform, for security reasons, or if these Terms are violated. 7. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Meta Platform or X, post publishing, or ad approval, as these depend on systems operated by Meta and X. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, the Meta Platform, or X.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our practices, the Meta Platform Terms, X's policies, or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
